Hi, essentially this is a showcase of some of my currently unfinished Stylized NPR work, my Gwain Saga pieces were personal work and some of the Space Cops 24 work where I have some closer ties with the project.
Gwain Saga
For the indie YT series know as Gwain Saga made by GeoExe, I decided to make a 3D fanart of the Character from the series named Marlow.
My most recent progress on marlow, I did some heavy reworking of the initial model I made for her where instead of using 2D facial expressions, I opted to give her a full modeled mouth which in the future could open up the possibility for smooth mouth movement either through the use of a mouth rig or simply shape keys. After these improvements since shading would not look as clean and defined as having essentially a sphere/bean shaped face, I decided to try out the facial shading technique that games such as Genshin impact use where essentially I made a SDF shadow map assigned to the UVs of the face where I could draw and specify of the shadows look depending on the angle of the light.

As for how the model looked before these changes, I made quite a few test renders that showcased it as shown below.

Space Cops
For the currently in development indie series called Space Cops 24 made by WeatherWitch, my work initially started as a 3D fanart of the series where I had decided to recreate a stylized character model of the main protagonist Catherine and more specifically in her fully suited up Space Suit.
While the model is still very much in its early stages and doesn’t even have fully modeled hands or anything, I very much tried to go into the deep end on techniques that I could apply to make it a convincing stylized character.
The most complex part and where most of the techniques were applied is in the face where it is utilizing a boolean mouth which can be essentially placed and shaped however the animator might like without any topological constrains (There are usually topology artifacts created by this which would impact shading however these are less visible in a toon shader and the normals will likely be modified anyways). Additionally I was messing around with the blender compositor where the modeled eyes, despite being placed behind the mesh would should up in front to give it an interesting parallax.

After I published my work in progress Catherine 3D model, WeatherWitch reached out to me and I was able to have some closer ties to the project! While there were many cool things going on behind the scenes, what I am able to share is some cool test 3D Environment work I did where I was recreating the PASA Control Center in 3D. Along with utilizing toon shading, I also made use of Blenders Grease Pencil to give the environment the proper outlines along with having a dynamic stylized clouds.
